Trauma Resolution
What is trauma and How is it resolved?
Types of Trauma
When a person thinks of the word “trauma” they think of car accidents, natural disasters, fires, massive heart attacks, or things that are life threatening. We call these big “T” traumas. There are also small “t” traumas that impact our beliefs about self, other people, and the world around us. Small “t” traumas cause problems such as low self-esteem, mood disorders, and problem behaviors. Resolving Trauma EMDR is the method we use to process and resolve trauma. This type of therapy goes to the root of the trauma and extends to the present moment behaviors and feelings. EMDR has eight phases, and treatment lasts generally between three months or more depending on the complexity of the traumas. |
